Whether you want to use drones for video and photography projects, for industrial applications like surveying, or just for fun, we have a course to suit your needs.
Our beginners' course gets you operating a drone confidently for the first time, and our PfCO course enables you to apply for a licence to operate your drone commercially. Find out more below.
If you're new to flying and don't know which drone to buy, how to operate it, or where you can fly it, this one-day beginners' course will answer all of your questions and get you in the air. We will cover:
Explore the pros and cons of the different types of consumer drone available and gain a solid grounding in the flight control principles needed to fly confidently and safely.
Learn how to apply for CAA approval relevant to your needs. (N.B. The one-day course does not enable you to apply for a PfCO licence. If you are interested in applying for a PfCO licence, please see the course below.)
Familiarise yourself with the transmitter controls using simulated practice exercises, explore GPS navigation technology, and understand checklists and flight procedures.
Apply your new skills and knowledge to real drone flight and further develop your flying ability. Our experienced aerospace professionals will support you every step of the way with useful hints and tips.
Gain the skills, knowledge and guidance needed to apply for your Permission for Commercial Operations (PfCO) from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The course is run in three stages:
Learn the eight key subject areas that the CAA requires competence in before being granted a PfCO.
Explore relevant subject areas in more depth with our experienced flight instructor before taking the CAA-approved theory exam.
The practical flight assessment will test your flight skills and safe operational ability. You will also be provided with support in applying for your PfCO licence.
